My name is Kathy Cavender and I'm so excited to be returning as an inclusion aide at Sanford Elementary!  I studied Education at Texas Woman’s University.  In 1998, I began teaching kindergarten at Anna Elementary.  After four years of teaching, I spent three years at home with my son. I returned to teaching in 2005 and spent most of my years teaching 1st grade at Partin Elementary.   I stepped down from my teaching role in 2020 and became an aide at Sanford. Watching young students learn to read and grow as lifelong learners is incredibly rewarding.  I love the fact that I can still play a small role in their educational success. 

My husband Paul and I have been married since 1995 and our son Zack is in Music School at Texas Tech University.  Paul and I enjoy watching Zack as he participates in the Goin’ Band from Raiderland in the fall, concerts during the school year, and Drum Corp activities in the summer.  My husband and I also love to travel.  We are always planning our next adventure.
