Serving students with dyslexia is the best job! After many years in the elementary classroom, I transitioned to the role of dyslexia specialist in 2017. My favorite thing about working with dyslexic students is when they realize they are actually quite smart and that they can, indeed, become strong readers with the right tools!
When not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family. I've been married since 1993 - that sounds like such a long time! I have three adult children, two of whom are married. I also have a teen still at home who keeps me super busy with all her activities!
Besides hanging out with my family, I love traveling. So far I have been to Canada, Mexico, Ireland, Hungary, and Cambodia in addition to most of the continental United States. I spend a lot of my spare time planning for my next trip! I also enjoy reading, sewing, watching movies, playing board games, playing the piano, and spending time in nature.
