At approximately 7:50 AM today, a 4th grader at Sanford Elementary left the campus without permission.

Our safety response team acted quickly and followed established procedures, communicating efficiently while coordinating with the Van Alstyne ISD Police Department, Van Alstyne Police and Fire Departments, and Anna Police Department Drone Unit.

The situation was resolved safely and the student was located walking a short distance from the school. The student was returned to the campus and parents were notified.
